Are You Losing Your Housing and Have Nowhere to Live?
What is HPRP?
HPRP is a new program that offers help for people with temporary financial difficulties. If you’ve unexpectedly fallen on some hard times, the County of Los Angeles wants to help you stay in your home or find a good, safe place to live.
HPRP can help you pay for costs such as:
- Back rent
- Rental assistance
- Security deposit for a new apartment
- Past-due gas and electric bills
- Fees to turn on your utilities
The program may also offer:
- A short-term rental subsidy
- Mediation services
- Consumer counseling
- Legal services
There are income and residency requirements for HPRP. HPRP serves the recently homeless or those at-risk of becoming homeless. HPRP (The Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program) is not designed to help the chronically homeless. For services to help the chronically homeless call 2-1-1 L.A. County’s information hotline.

- Have a low income
